MIC Football is the most important international youth football tournament in Europe. It is held every year at Costa Brava, on 36 football fields in the province of Girona. A tournament that offers a super professional experience including televised games, streaming, a delegations parade, opening ceremony, and much more, giving the feeling of a -mini- world club cup.

The best clubs in the world participate in MIC Football (Barça, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG, among others) as well as small teams from the region. Around 300 teams (from 30 different countries) and more than 6,000 male and female players between 12 and 20 years old have participated in this latest edition.

Elite players such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, Dani Carvajal, Piqué, Casemiro, Cesc Fabregas and Ansu Fati have participated in the MIC in their youth years, which exemplifies the magnitude and importance of this tournament for the next stars.

OLIVER the new tech for the 20th edition of MIC Football

During this last edition, more than 50 teams and 800 players have been able to track their performance thanks to OLIVER's GPS technology. An innovative technology that places a small GPS device on the player's leg and allows them to know their athletic and technical skills and even prevent muscle injuries.

Thanks to the data that OLIVER has collected during this edition of the MIC, it has been possible to obtain the maximum reached in the main metrics.

WOMEN´S FOOTBALL:

  • ⚡ Top Speed: 29,37 km/h (F20)
  • ⚽ Kick Power: 92,73 km/h (F20)
  • 🔥 Most intense player per minute: 97,96 m/min (F20)
  • 📍 Max. Distance covered during a game: 6,14 km (F20)

-Using OLIVER's GPS has been a very rewarding experience. Within 2 minutes of using it, I had already forgotten because the calf sleeve is very comfortable. And in the end, being able to see the game data was really motivating - Highlighted the RCD Espanyol Femení player after using OLIVER.

MEN´S FOOTBALL:

  • ⚡ Top Speed: 31,7 km/h (U20)
  • ⚽ Kick Power: 105 km/h (U18)
  • 🔥 Most intense player per minute: 104.05 m/min (U20)
  • 📍  Max. Distance covered during a game: 6,29 km (U18)

-I knew about the GPS in the chest, but I didn't know that there was a GPS for the leg like OLIVER's, it is amazing to know my kick power and compare myself with professional players - Indicated a male U16 player from FC Barcelona.

The deal between MIC Football and OLIVER means making elite technology available to a huge number of youth football players, as well as to coaches and physical trainers, which results in incredible benefits.

  • The importance of monitoring youth football players

Having quantifiable and comparable data of each player makes it possible to know the evolution, their athletic and football skills in order to plan specific training sessions to improve performance and control physical loads

  • The importance of Injury prevention in player development

Injuries are part of the process of any athlete, being one of the main causes of future stars not getting to play in the first team. Luckily, today there are technologies like OLIVER that provide great insights, allowing them to reduce muscle injuries by 45%. This leads to players being able to train and play more.

OLIVER thus continues with its mission of democratizing access to elite technology, making it accessible to everyone who plays soccer in its various formats and levels.
